As the game begins, you find yourself in the mysterious Trollbriar Thicket, a dense and enchanted woodland shrouded in an eerie mist. The forest is a labyrinth of towering trees, tangled vines, and bioluminescent flora, casting an otherworldly glow upon the surroundings. The air is heavy with an aura of ancient magic, and the distant howls and whispers of unseen creatures send shivers down your spine.
The Trollbriar serves as the initial gateway into the lost realm after the events of the prologue. As you traverse this woodland, you start to sense the disarray in the realm, noticing the subtle changes that have occurred since your previous adventure in “Skeletronomicon III: Necroforge”. The once thriving and vibrant forest now exhibits signs of decay and corruption, hinting at the malevolent force that has been unleashed in their absence.
You quickly realise that the Trollbriar Thicket is no longer the benign and welcoming place you remember. Ancient guardians and mystical creatures, once protectors of the forest, have turned hostile due to the disappearance of the benevolent Warlock Daelgron. The absence of his presence has disrupted the harmony that once existed in this woodland, turning it into a treacherous and dangerous territory.
As you venture deeper into the Trollbriar Thicket, you will uncover remnants of Daelgron's presence and unravel the mystery of his exile. Clues hint at a malevolent presence that seeks to exploit the Warlock's absence to unleash darkness upon the realm. You will face challenging puzzles that test your wit and agility, requiring you to harness the unique abilities you acquired during character creation.
In your exploration, you may encounter old acquaintances who have been ensnared by the corrupting force, further fuelling your determination to find and rescue Daelgron. The stage culminates in a climactic encounter with a powerful corrupted guardian, whose defeat allows the you to gather valuable information about Daelgron's whereabouts and the identity of the malevolent force pulling the strings.
You exit the Trollbriar Thicket with newfound resolve, knowing that the realm's fate hangs in the balance, and your quest for Daelgron's salvation and the restoration of the lost realm is far from over.

Luminescent Mushrooms: Glowing mushrooms light up the forest floor, illuminating the path ahead and revealing hidden secrets.
Whispering Willows: Enchanted willow trees seem to communicate through a soft, ethereal whisper, guiding the player towards their destiny.
Shifting Paths: The forest is alive with magic, causing paths to shift and change. The player must navigate wisely to progress further.
Enchanted Ponds: Pockets of still water shimmer with a captivating glow, offering brief visions of the realm's past and future.
Ancient Runes: Intricate runes etched onto tree trunks and stones hint at the mysteries of the realm and offer cryptic clues.

Thorned Fiends: Once docile creatures now turned hostile, these beings have grown thorns and corrupted by dark energy. They attack with sharp projectiles and unpredictable movements.
Wispstalkers: Will-o'-the-wisps have transformed into mischievous and elusive adversaries, appearing and disappearing at will while luring the player into dangerous traps.
Sentinel Trees: Animated guardian trees protect the forest, attacking intruders with powerful root strikes and unleashing bursts of elemental energy.
Enshadowed Spirits: Ghostly entities haunt the Thicket, seeking to drain the player's life force and disappearing into the shadows to avoid retaliation.
